With Halloween Party invitations set to go out soon, you might be thinking about a memorable party favor you can give to your party guests. These candy corn painted favors are sure to be a big hit with your littlest and your biggest guests! I love this idea because it’s festive, super versatile and can be customized to your guests preferences. If you are having a kids party, you can fill these jars up with candy corn and once the candy is gone, the kids can plant their seed paper candy or cat. If it’s a favor for adults, you can gift them with battery operated votive candles or you can gift them pre-filled with soil and ready to plant! So many options and they are easy to make (or we can make them for you – to order go to our Etsy Storefront – ThatsWrapped – Etsy).

What You’ll Need:

4 Oz Glass Jars

Yellow, Orange, White Paint

Matte Spray Paint for finishing

Paint Brushes

Natural Jute Ribbon

Orange Card Stock Paper

Hole Punch

Ruler, Pencil, Fine Black Marker and Scissors

Glue or 6mm Glue Dots

Seed Paper Shapes (You can order Candy or Cats from our Etsy Storefront)

Filler: Candy Corn, Votives or Soil

Instructions: Start by painting the glass jars from the bottom up – yellow, orange and then white. I used three coats of paint on these favors and you can still see the glow of the votive through the jar which I love. But the more coats you include, the more opaque it will be. I like to paint free-hand, but if you need help with straight lines you can always use painter’s tape. Start with taping up the middle of the jar (the orange part). Paint the bottom yellow and the top white with three coats of paint. Once it’s completely dry, tape over the white and yellow sections and paint the middle orange.

The Tags are 2″w x 2.5″h. You can measure out as many tags as you need on the orange card stock and cut them out. Punch one hole in the upper left hand corner of the tag. Our tags are printed, but you can design your own Happy Halloween tags using a fine black marker or stickers which is a great way to get the kids involved. If using our seed paper shapes, please order the 1″ shapes. Next, cut the jute string to 18″ for each favor. Tie the tag on the jar with a bow and fill the jar up with your desired filler.

That’s Wrapped!

xoxo,
